If someone asks what is the active ingredient in a plant my first answer is always there are many active ingredients. 

Ginger contains many different phytochemicals, however, two different types have received the most interest from scientists for their health promoting properties.

Specifically, ginger is rich in gingerols and shogaols. 

Ginger is known to have an many benefits ranging from relieving migraines to helping relieve an upset stomach

Ginger can contain approximately Gingerols (23-25%) and shogaols (18-25%).
